Bed Bug Treatment in Southeast Michigan
Bed bugs are small, flat, reddish-brown insects that feed on blood during the night and hide during the day. They are expert hitchhikers and are commonly brought into homes via luggage, used furniture, and clothing. Bed bugs do not indicate a lack of cleanliness — they are found in homes, hotels, and businesses of all types.
Regal treats bed bugs using targeted pesticide applications. A thorough inspection is conducted first. Follow-up visits are required for effective results.
How We Treat
Regal uses professional pesticide application to treat bed bugs. We inspect first, treat the affected areas, and return for follow-up visits to address any eggs that hatch after the initial service.
Pesticide Application
Professional-grade products applied to harborage areas, cracks, crevices, baseboards, and furniture. Fast, no lengthy drying or setup times.
Inspection First
Every job starts with a full inspection to identify harborage sites and determine the extent of the infestation before any treatment is applied.
3-Visit Program
Initial treatment plus two follow-up visits, 14 to 21 days apart. Follow-ups address newly hatched eggs not killed by the first service.
Treatment Schedule
Bed bug eggs are resistant to pesticides, which is why follow-ups are not optional — they are the most important part of a successful outcome. All prep steps apply to each visit.
Initial Treatment
Full inspection and pesticide application to all harborage areas throughout the home.
First Follow-Up
Targets bed bugs that hatched after the initial service.
Second Follow-Up
Final treatment to confirm elimination and address any remaining activity.
Before Your Service
Proper preparation is critical. These steps must be completed before every visit — not just the first one.
Everyone out for 4 hours
All people and pets must leave before treatment begins and stay out for at least 4 hours afterward.
No foggers or bug bombs
Do not use foggers, bug bombs, or any DIY sprays before your service. These scatter insects and significantly reduce treatment effectiveness.
Vacuum
- Vacuum all carpeted areas, mattresses, box springs, bed frames, upholstered furniture, and drawers — paying close attention to cracks and crevices.
- Seal and discard the vacuum bag in an outside trash bin immediately. For bagless vacuums: empty, rinse, and wipe dry.
Laundry
- Wash all clothing, bedding, and curtains per label instructions — then dry on the highest heat setting for at least 30 minutes. This kills bed bugs and their eggs. Already-clean items can go straight into the dryer.
- For dry-clean-only items, contact a dry cleaner in advance.
- Place all dried items immediately into sealed plastic bags or tied trash bags. Keep sealed through the treatment. Afterward, items can go back to closets and drawers.
- Discard empty bags outside right away.
Clear Access
- Strip all linens from mattresses and box springs.
- Pull all furniture away from walls.
- Empty nightstands, dressers, and shelving so our technician can reach all areas.
