THE SHORT ANSWER… IN OUR EXPERINCE, NO. THE SCIENCE SAYS “IT’S NOT LIKELY”.
In a post dated May 3, 2001, the FTC’s Division of Enforcement said that they sent letters to over 60 manufacturers and retailers of ultrasonic devices, stating the importance of having scientific backing on any claims of the efficacy of these types of devices for not only rodent control but in controlling other types of pests.
The post goes on to cite that mice will likely return to their nesting site, even in the presence of unsettling soundwaves. As well, mice typically adapt to the sounds, likely making the device’s efficacy temporary at best.
