THE BIRD CONTROL SERVICES WE OFFER
Pigeon droppings are considered hazardous waste and must be disinfected previous to any attempt at removal. The droppings will be treated with a bio-chemical live enzyme formulation consisting of a synergistic blend of three selected Bacillus micro-organisms, special surfactants and a unique odor neutralization formula. The product is non-toxic, non-flammable and bio-degradable, plus it is USDA accepted as environmentally safe. The droppings will then be removed from the affected areas and disposed of by Regal Pest Control. * PLEASE NOTE: Dropping removal is not a guaranteed item. If a repellant system has been installed by Regal Pest Control, to assure the area has been excluded from activity, there should be no further dropping removal necessary. Dropping removal is generally a per diem item.
Mist nets are very fine nets with pouches located at the bottom of the net. The mist nets are placed in the bird’s flight path to catch the birds. Birds typically fly into the net on an angle, causing the bird to loose speed and fall down into the pouches located at the bottom, which retains the bird until it can be released. The mist net can be re-positioned throughout the premises to continue to catch any additional birds that enter the area.
A frame will be constructed utilizing stainless steel cable attached to eye-bolts with turnbuckles at the corner of every run. The cable will be secured using intermediate attachments every two feet. Netting will be attached with net rings. Common areas of application would include structural steel undersides of canopies, open roof areas, which exceed 4’ of depth, and open top canopies. Netting comes in various sizes to exclude birds as small as sparrows, and as large as starlings and pigeons.
Telescopic posts (for height variance) will be attached to the four corners of the roof. Wire will be run on the two longest sides from post to post. Tension will be accomplished by connecting a turnbuckle to one end of the wire and using ferrules to connect at the other post. Wire (.96 mm) will be run across the work area every three feet, tension accomplished with a rubber grommet attached to the end of the gull wire. Wire will be above the peak and roof as it pitches downward. Gulls are not good at landing because of their wingspan. The wire placed at three foot intervals will stop the gulls from using the treated areas for perching, roosting and nesting.
Exclusionary spikes can be used for various applications including I beam ledges, gutters, exterior fluorescent lights and ledges measuring up to 8 inches in width. The spikes are low profile so they will not detract from the aesthetic of the structure. They can be adhered with an industrial strength adhesive or hardware, to assure stability and long term protection from re-infestation.
The gel causes the pigeon’s feet to stick to the surface on which it is applied, causing them to emit an alarm cry to the rest of the flock. After a few attempted landings they will no longer use those areas for roosting. The gel is non-toxic, no-odor, and extremely effective. The residual life of the material is listed as 2 years, however I’ve had accounts over 5 years old that have yet to have any attempt to re-establish the sites as roosting areas. Pigeons are creatures of habit so that once they leave an area, they tend to stick to the new roost rather than attempting to establish old roosts that have been treated with the gel. Signs, I beam ledges, and smaller ledges are areas where the gel repellant would be utilized.
Springwire is a system that is installed on ledges that are wider than 8 inches. Stainless steel posts are installed on the ledge using either an insert that is drilled into the ledge or a prefabricated clip that is adhered onto the ledge with hardware. The posts are 1 inch from the front and back edges. Posts are then spaced at a maximum of 3 inches. They are alternated at different heights. Stainless steel wire is then run through an opening at the top of the post. One end is looped and ferruled, the other looped, ferruled and a spring attached to the post and through the wire loop. When birds try to land on the ledge the system creates a spongy feeling causing them to disperse. The system is cost effective when compared with other available measures. It is also a low profile, low visibility system that will not detract from the attractiveness of the structure.

HVAC units on flat roofs create a warm, protected shelter for nesting birds. Hardware cloth cut is cut to fit the available access areas thereby excluding those areas from future nesting. Hardware cloth is easily formed and cut to secure areas that can become a significant problem because of nesting activity. HVAC units will have a longer life without the possibility of pest birds getting caught in the internal mechanisms and ruining the unit.
Daddy Long Legs are units that contain long wire legs placed on a spindle creating a turning, moving obstacle to stop birds from roosting on the top of HVAC units and other areas up to 8 feet in circumference. Commonly used on HVAC units they are also effective on street lights, boats, and areas where other applications are not feasible.
Any contracted work will be guaranteed for one (1) year from the date of completion (with exception to cleaning and disinfecting of droppings). If there are any maintenance issues during that period Regal Pest Control will return at no cost and repair/replace any deficiencies in the program. Regal Pest Control offers the customer the opportunity to extend the original guarantee period, beyond the first year, with payment of a maintenance renewal fee. Upon payment of such renewal we will inspect and maintain the treated premises annually. Though the product guarantees range from 2-5 years, labor for any maintenance after the initial guarantee, would not be covered. Payment of the maintenance renewal fee will extend complete guarantee coverage, to include labor, for one (1) additional year.
