Rodent Control - Mice and Rats

Regal Pest Control technicians are fully licensed and trained to control the rodent issues on your property. Mice and rats can cause damage to not only the outside and inside of the home but their droppings can pose a serious health risk if left unaddressed.

By contacting our rodent control professionals, you are doing more than simply controlling the mice and rats at your location. A professional uses the most efficient baits, traps and has the experience necessary to control the rodent issue in an efficient way.

How we Control Mice and Rats

Our five step process to control the rodent issues at your location.

1

INSPECTION

Every quality service begins with a thorough initial inspection. Our technicians will carefully examine your property for entry points, environmental factors, and construction issues that may allow rodents to enter or contribute to existing or future problems.

2

ASSESSMENT

After the initial inspection, our technicians will assess all reasonable solutions and discuss the recommended approach to resolve the issue. While baits are often the most effective solution, we will review all control methods and explain the entry points and harborage areas we’ve identified. Our technicians are happy to answer any questions you may have.

3

BAITING OR TRAPPING

We offer both trapping and baiting services for rodent control. However, due to the rapid breeding rates of mice and rats, baiting is typically the preferred method. Bait blocks are placed inside bait stations—secure boxes with small openings that allow rodents to access and feed on the bait.

4

FOLLOW UP SERVICES

After the initial visit, follow-up services are typically scheduled to check and replace baits. These follow-ups help assess the level of activity and provide insight into the progress of the infestation control. The number of follow-ups required depends on the infestation level, but we generally schedule one or two visits for most cases. For continuous monitoring and re-baiting, we also offer service plans. Check out our service plans for more details!

5

EXCLUSION (IF POSSIBLE)

Once follow-up services are complete, we recommend sealing any identified entry points. During the initial visit, our technician will inform you of any entry points found and let you know if we can seal them. While most entry points can be sealed by our technicians, some may require a contractor for more complex repairs, such as fascia or ridge vent issues.

How do Mice and Rats Gain Access?

Mice and rats can gain access to the inside of your home, garage or structure through openings as small as 1/4″ (about the size of a dime) for mice and slightly larger for rats. They are very agile when it comes to looking for food sources and in establishing nesting sites. The following areas are common entry-points.

soffits

cracks and holes where brick meets siding

dryer vent slats that get brittle or stuck open

garage door corners where the weather stripping meets

worn or rotted foam around utility lines entering the structure
